Jake Ertle's Snowy

The Sailfishing was a bit off Saturday, so we took the opportunity to try a little bottom fishing. Since we have just one electric reel Jake decided to rig his bottom gear and fish “the man’s way”!! It paid off instantly with a nice 9 lb snowy in 320 feet of water. He followed it up with a 7 lb snowy 10 minutes later. Dad managed to catch 3 more smaller fish to limit the snowys. Then inshore Jake came up with a nice 5 lb Scamp and several big 3-4 lb sea bass. The boy was on fire.

I’m looking forward to get back to the Sails but I’m sure we will have some discussions/negotiations about bottom fishing again.
